    A month before the end of 2024, we visit five shows that offer unique perspectives on the past and present of Korean art. Chun Kyun-Ja's centennial exhibition introduces us to the life and work of one of the world's most free-spirited female artists. "Tik Tok" is another show which aims to bridge the gap between high Buddhist concepts about the nature of reality and everyday entertainment. Lastly, we take a look at Moon Jars and other ceramics that merge traditional cultural symbols such as Hanji and literati aesthetics.

    This August, we take a look at two commemorative exhibitions. The first one is by Lee Ungno, one of Korea's leading 20th century painters who contributed greatly to the development of Korean Abstraction and who worked to reconcile Eastern and Western styles. The second one is by Heo Young-Man and looks at his 50-year-long career in comics and his contribution to Korean manhwa styles.
